1) In 1958 Paul closed the restaurants and took all of the staff on a holiday to Las Vegas and Disneyland.

2) Paul got the crazy idea of having the customers decide what to pay for dinner and even went so far as to have the customers ring in their own bills to the cashier and make their own change. You could read about it in 16 North American newspapers including the Boston Globe and New York Times.
